On 27 August 2020, DuPont Nutrition & Biosciences announced the opening of a new facility in Wuxi, China. This new animal nutrition manufacturing plant, valued at approximately $5 million (R83 million), will provide the local animal production industry with customised solutions to support the evolving needs of customers in China.
“The new facility in Wuxi, China will improve the flexibility of our offerings to the Chinese animal nutrition market,” said Aart Mateboer, business unit director at DuPont Animal Nutrition. “We continue to enhance our capability to deliver solutions from our best-in-class product portfolio to our Asia Pacific customers,” said Vik Prabhu, regional director of health and biosciences, Asia Pacific. “We recently expanded our capability at our Shanghai Animal Nutrition Applications & Technical Service Laboratory, which is an excellent complement to this new operation. As a result of outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) and the COVID-19 pandemic, our customers have had to adapt quickly to changing conditions, and this facility is designed to provide a flexible local response to our most valued customers”.
