Chemuniqué (Pty) Ltd, a well-established business in the animal feed industry, has a vacancy available for a Technical specialist in the animal feed industry, focused on ruminant species. This role requires a blend of sales insight and technical knowledge to effectively address customer needs and drive product application.
Overview and responsibilities
- Customer engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers in the animal production sector, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Technical expertise: Provide technical support and advice to customers regarding the application and benefits of the company’s feed additives, ensuring that customers understand how the products meet their specific needs.
- Product promotion: Actively promote and sell a range of feed additive products, demonstrating their value and effectiveness in improving animal health and productivity.
- Market analysis: Conduct regular market research to identify trends and customer needs, enabling the development of targeted sales strategies.
- Sales strategy development: Collaborate with technical and marketing teams to develop and implement effective sales strategies and promotional campaigns.
- Training and support: Provide training and support to customers and internal teams on product features, benefits, and best practices for use.
- Reporting and documentation: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and market feedback, providing regular reports to management.
Requirements
- This position requires you to be based in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
- Animal production or animal science degree.
- Strong understanding of animal nutrition and feed additives, including their applications and benefits.
- Proven experience in technical sales, preferably within the animal feed or nutrition industry (five years)
- Experience in technical sales support, sales, or marketing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
- Superior presentation and communication skills.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Positive and reliable, pro-active, innovative, self-motivated and results-driven attitude.
- Highly motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The position is full-time and not office bound.
