Technical Intern: Ruminants

Chemuniqué (Pty) Ltd, a well-established business in the animal feed industry, has a vacancy available for a technical intern in the animal feed industry, focused on ruminant species.

This role requires a person with a strong work ethic that is self-motivated and willing to get their hands dirty, while learning about the feed industry and gaining valuable work experience.

The position is for one year, full-time, and not office bound.

Overview and responsibilities

On-farm interaction: Collect, analyse, and interpret data from on-farm assessments.

On-farm assessment reporting: Support the development of technical reports, presentations, and marketing materials.

On-farm assessment feedback: Collaborate with the technical team to evaluate product efficacy and animal health outcomes.

Customer engagement: Participate in industry collaboration like dairy study groups and dairy clubs, and industry conferences (as applicable).

Reporting and documentation: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, and market feedback, providing regular reports to management.

Market analysis: Report on customer interaction to identify trends and customer needs, enabling the development of targeted sales strategies.

Literature support: Assist in literature reviews and competitive analysis of feed additive technologies.

Requirements

  • This position requires you to be based in the Eastern Cape.
  • Degree in animal production or animal science, with a post-graduate degree being desirable.
  • Good work ethic.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • Superior presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Positive and reliable, pro-active, innovative, self-motivated and results-driven attitude.
  • Highly motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
