Dr Munro Griessel will be missed

It is with great sadness that the animal feed industry must say goodbye to yet another formidable colleague, a legend in his field and a mentor to so many of us. Dr Munro Griessel passed away earlier this week, after a long and very brave battle with cancer.

Dr Munro Griessel was the very first person to receive the AFMA Person of the Year award in 1993 for his exceptional contribution towards the feed industry after many years of dedicated service. He was one of the founding members of the Protein Research Foundation (PRF), serving as chairman of the technology committee for almost 20 years. He has also served as a board member and chairman of the Animal Feed Manufacturers Association (AFMA), as well as on the boards of Rainbow Chicken and RCL Foods Ltd during his career.

On behalf of the Chemuniqué family, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the Griessel family, friends, and industry colleagues. Munro will always be remembered as a wonderful friend, for his loyalty and commitment to our industry, his wild and wicked sense of humour, and for many hours of fun spent together.
