Kyle Venter honoured with international award

Chemuniqué is proud to announce that Kyle Venter, innovation manager at Chemuniqué and postgraduate researcher at the University of Pretoria, has been awarded the prestigious Best Researcher Award at the International Soil Scientist Awards in the United Arab Emirates.

The International Soil Scientist Awards is a premier global event dedicated to honouring innovative research in soil science. This recognition highlights Kyle’s significant contributions to sustainable poultry production and his innovative research in broiler nutrition.

Kyle holds both a BSc and an MSc from the University of Pretoria and is currently completing his PhD, focusing on enhancing sustainability and profitability in poultry production through advanced nutritional strategies. His research emphasises digestible calcium systems, trace mineral optimisation, and nutrient digestibility. By reevaluating trace mineral requirements, he aims to improve their utilisation while minimising environmental excretion.

His groundbreaking work has garnered multiple accolades, including the AFMA Student Award and the Poultry Science Association Student Research Award. These honours reflect the impact of his research on the poultry industry and underline his commitment to bridging the gap between academic research and practical applications in livestock production.

In his role at Chemuniqué, Kyle collaborates with global institutions to advance environmentally conscious and efficient broiler production systems. His recent presentations at international conferences have focused on innovative strategies to manage both macro- and microminerals in broiler diets, particularly addressing phosphate dependency – a critical issue for poultry producers.

Terry Wiggill, managing director at Chemuniqué, stated, “We are extremely proud of Kyle’s accomplishments. His expertise in mineral nutrition and nutrient digestibility positions him as a leader in developing sustainable poultry production strategies. His ability to communicate complex scientific concepts eUectively has made him a sought-after guest speaker on various scientific platforms.

“Kyle’s innovative research has the potential to transform broiler diets while addressing economic and environmental challenges associated with phosphate dependency. Chemuniqué’s commitment to sustainability, particularly in minimising mineral excretion, has been instrumental in qualifying for this esteemed award, showcasing the company’s leadership in advancing sustainable agricultural practices.”
