We are delighted to share that Jorja Ashford, a senior research assistant at Chemuniqué, has earned recognition by winning the second round of the Literature Review category in the Animal Feed Manufacturers Association (AFMA) 2025 Intervarsity Writer’s Cup competition.
Her article, titled “Factors affecting bone health in laying hens”, received the highest score from a panel of judges who evaluated submissions based on a set of rigorous criteria.
As a result of this outstanding achievement, Jorja’s work will be published in the April 2025 edition of AFMA Matrix, and she will be awarded a cash prize. Additionally, as a quarterly winner, her article is now in the running for the overall winner title in the Literature Review category.
This achievement follows the success of another senior research assistant, Kean Jacobs, who won the first round of the Literature Review category at the end of last year.
“The future of animal nutrition is in capable hands, thanks to the exceptional talent and drive of our interns. Their impressive performance at AFMA competitions underscores the effectiveness of our training approach and the passion they bring to their work. As we continue to cultivate a culture of innovation and excellence, we are excited to see how these emerging leaders will redefine the boundaries of our field and shape its future trajectory,” says managing director Terry Wiggill.
